IF: Paisley

Saturday, June 19, 2010

I made Paisley for Illustration Friday this week, with a drawing technique I’ve been trying to use for the last week. I started using a pen, so I couldn’t erase and I didn’t lift the pen from the paper until the drawing was done. The first time I tried this drawing I was not satisfied so I tried again! I am using this technique to get my creativity going, and I can truly feel the effects! Let me know if you’ve tried this before, or if you have different ways to let your creativity flow :)

Ripple

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

I made ripple for Illustration Friday with markers and a black color pencil. It says “I could walk on water” meaning that I could do anything I want , with a little practice, discipline, passion and love. Something like “the sky is the limit”, or in this case, the water is the limit, I guess…
I watched a video last week about these guys that were talking about how with practice they mastered the sport of walking on water. It was pretty convincing, at least to me… and other people I’m sure! The truth is it was a scam.
Anyways, when my dear friend Emily told me the truth behind this video, she made me feel like a girl when she finds out the truth about Santa Claus… So this is my way of saying: “hey, I could do it… I could do anything!”
You may be curious about the video so here it is.

Slither

“Slither” is for Illustration Friday. I couldn’t post it last week since my computer was acting kinda weird. But I guess it’s better late than never. Feel free to leave a comment :)

Las niñas

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

“Las niñas” is a charcoal drawing I made about a month ago. I wanted to explore the charcoal, since I don’t really use it very much, and I was (am) missing my sister a lot, so this drawing made me feel a little closer to her, since we live in different countries at the moment.
